Markham Elementary
MT. LEBANON SCHOOLS · 2017

The Matt’s Maker Space of Markham is located in a large lower-level classroom, as it had to expand after a busy start in their library. Their space features student artwork, and includes 3D printers, a button maker, Cricut, Blu-bots, Spheros, and many other tools, along with storage for a variety of materials. They designed the space with a focus on user-friendly organization, storage, and safety. Teachers can reserve the space for class time through an online system to support their regular coursework.

Projects include egg drops, repurposed ‘junk’ sculptures, bridge building, sail testing, and creation of crab playgrounds. One of the unique decorations is a large wall hanging that reads ‘CREATE’, which is covered in photos of students at Markham!
