Jefferson Elementary’s Matt’s Maker Space is located in the school library, and is a hub of activity for creativity, communication, and collaboration through hands-on learning. The space includes movable tables and seating for flexible arrangement, and has a green screen, robotics equipment, and building tools and materials.
These resources are used for projects relating to class work, ranging from literature to science. Previous activities include engineering exercises using Keva planks, Legos, and other materials, egg drop competitions, 3D printing and 3D pen projects, coding with Beebots and Sphero, circuitry projects for model houses and using Little Bits, and Makey Makey music projects.
