Matt’s Maker Space Opens at St. Paul’s Episcopal Nursery School

Updated: Jun 18, 2021

Matt’s Maker Space will be opening our 9th space at St. Paul’s Episcopal Nursery School in the fall.  This is exciting because it os one of the first maker spaces in a preschool setting. It is being designed by the team of designers at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.  We chose these talented folks because they helped with the seven maker spaces in Mt. Lebanon and have established themselvesas the exerts in maker space design.  The staff at St. Paul’s are excited because for as far back as the beginning of the school, they have adopted a play philosophy. There is no better school suited to have a maker space than St. Paul’s.

Director Eileen Sharbaugh was one of the many supporters of the Conover family when Matt was sick. She is part of the community who took care of the family and their needs. Both Alex and Anna Conover attended St. Paul’s for all of their nursery school years. It just made sense to put this room in in Matt’s memory for many reasons!

Design and building will be done over the summer and a blessing service will be held by St.Paul’s Episcopal Church in the early fall.

We are so excited to add another maker space to our growing family of spaces.
